It’s Done!!

After about 30 hours of labor we were able to salvage our shower!  The shelves around the window were a total nightmare because we had to use the old tile and puzzle it back together.  As you can see from the picture we numbered each piece, took a picture, and had to get it back in the right spot.  It was a joke but we managed to do the whole project without any major marital tension!  The kids had a great time being totally unsupervised and tearing the house apart, too.  What a way to spend your weekends!  Outside August 26 2006 015.jpg Thankfully, we only broke a couple tiles.  But, in a moment of genius Matt suggested using some decorative tiles on the walls so we could use some of the old, white tiles to replace broken or AWOL ones. Tonight we finished the grouting and clean up so here's the great unveiling!! Outside August 26 2006 0351.jpg     Waterford Shower done.jpg

Well done! Looks like you even made the blurry peep-holes darker too. Smart move.

GREAT job – can’t wait to see it.

It does look great! Your placement of the decorative tiles turned out really cute. I know you are glad it is done!

Rob, glass is draker because it was late at night when we finally finished! We are still a peeping Tom\’s nirvana.

Pam is right, we hardly fought at all. Which means we are maturing, too tired to muster the energy, or learning to appreciate our differences (my thirst for perfection and Pam\’s thirst to actually finish the project).

By the way, we had LOTS of help on this one. Both the boys AND our dog piled into that shower with us while we worked.

I never felt closer to the fam than when I was smashed up against my pregnant wife, two boys, and the dog in the shower. Good times.

This shower wall looks great! Please consider redoing the rest of the shower to match. Superb!

Cathy… “completed” is the key word there! I think we were mostly shocked that we actually completed the project in just over a week!

    Mike and Mom…NO! :)
