The Dragon Song

Adam wanted to share a “scary song” with me at lunch the other day.  Trey and I were feeling brave, so we dared him to do his worst.  Well, our budding pop star/horror flick director dropped his freaky lyrics on me, and before he was done I dove under the bed (and then wrote them down).  The [...]

Quarters are from Satan

Before this weekend I thought quarters were about the best piece of currency there was.  Unlike paper dollars, quarters appeal to that old fashioned sense that things of worth should have some weight and substance.

The silver color of quarters makes them easy to spot in parking lots, and the size is just about perfect to [...]

Hard Hats Rock

I can’t talk about hard hats without first mentioning a couple of my heros who also wore hard hats and led me to conclude at a young age that hard hats do indeed rock.

1) You dreamed about it, but I lived it.  There is nothing like the rush of walking into your first grade classroom holding [...]

Here’s to the Johnson pets!

I have to admit, I’m a sucker for cute, little animals and I’m teaching my kids to do be the same way (much to Matt’s despair).

1) ‘Bobo’ can be the ultimate insult hurdled between cousins.
Lauren (crying): “Adam called me Bobo!”

2) ‘Bobo’ is a fun-loving [...]

My Wonderful Sister-in-law!

I just had the priviledge of reading Rinnie’s tribute to her sisters-in-law and I felt all warm and fuzzy inside.  It would probably be too cheesy of me to write a beautiful ode back to her so I’ll wait a few months until her post has worn off.  :)
However, I’ve decided that I want to [...]

I’m one of them!

I went to Target for last-minute groceries before making dinner.  I got to the crowded parking lot and saw a great spot.  I stopped, had my blinker on and waited for an on-coming car to pass before I pulled in.  The trouble began when the on-coming car made a last minute turn into my parking spot!  [...]
